The Venice Time Machine is an interesting project underway at the Digital Humanities Lab of Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL).
The team have embarked on a ten year digitisation project of the city archives. This data will form the basis of a comprehensive simulation of Venice's past, with the aim of better understanding its present and anticipating its future. Prof. Frédéric Kaplan explains at TEDxCaFoscariU.
